BOSTON — The City of Boston kicked off National LGBTQ+ Pride Month at City Hall Thursday, marking the beginning of four weeks of celebrations. Mayor Michelle Wu announced a proclamation declaring June the official Pride month for the city, telling those in attendance the month is about even more than joy. 'It is an opportunity. A chance to reflect on and honor the rich revolutionary history of Pride in Massachusetts and in Boston,' Wu said. 'It's a reminder that our work is not done. Until we have achieved equity for all, our work continues.
